ระวังอันตรายจากสภาวะน้ำท่วมฉับพลันและน้ำป่าไหลหลากที่จะเกิดเพิ่มขึ้น ต่อไปอีก1-2 วัน หลังจากนั้นปริมาณฝนตกหนักจะลดลง ส่วนคลื่นลมในอ่าวไทยและทะเลอันดามันสูง 2-3 เมตร ขอให้ชาวเรือ
เพิ่มความระมัดระวังอันตรายในการเดินเรือ และเรือเล็กควรงดออกจากฝั่งในช่วง 2-3 วันนี้ไว้ด้วย

After the hillside gave way, rescue workers found four victims--three men and one woman--while some 200 initially were reported missing, but rescue teams helped some 50 villagers from the scene of the incident are mostly staying at Hua Kaew School, Wat Tham Khao Din and Wat Tham Krok. The rescue team decided to halt operations as the water level continued to rise, bridges and roads are inaccessible, and fears of more mudslides. However, Krabi Governor Prasit Osathanond said the rescue operation would resume Thursday and that the authorities planned to ask for more assistance from the army for heavy equipment, food and drinking water. The military would also be asked to reconstruct damaged bridges and roads, he said, adding that if the weather permitted, helicopter may be used to help the victims. In Phrom Khiri district of Nakhon Si Thammarat, a flash flood had swept away a bridge to Thon Hong sub district, leaving more than 80 households stranded in the district, but a landslide with large rocks blocked the road into the district, while at a nearly hill, mud continued flowing downhill. In Trang, a flood prevention dyke along the Trang River at Bang Rak and Nong Trut sub districts collapsed due to strong tides. Its waters had overflowed, flooding more than 1,500 homes with 1 to 3 metres deep. Trang Governor Maitree Intusut announced that three more districts, now 10 districts in total, have been designated as disaster areas. In Chumphon, one man was found drowned at Lang Suan district. Seven districts in the provinces with more than 55,000 villagers, 18,000 households were affected from the flood. A second victim, a child, was found drowned in Phattalung after strong floodwaters swept him away and his body was not recovered. Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Wednesday visited Nakhon Si Thammarat to evaluate the flood situation. He also distributed relief packages to flood victims in Tha Sala and Pak Phanang.

Situation:

Severe flooding and mudslides in southern Thailand have killed 21 people, stranded thousands of tourists and threatened to delay shipments of rubber in the world's largest rubber-producing country, authorities said. Trains to the region have been cancelled and three airports have been shut, including one on the popular island of Koh Samui. As well as Koh Samui, foreign tourists have also been stuck at resorts in Krabi and Koh Phangan. The Thai navy evacuated about 1,200 people from Koh Samui and Koh Tao, a remote island popular with backpackers. Thailand's navy sent four vessels including an amphibious landing craft with on-board helicopters to deliver supplies and rescue tourists and villagers in areas severely hit. "More rain is expected in the next few days," Satit Wongnongtoey, a minister in the prime minister's office, told Reuters. British ambassador Asif Ahmad said Britain was in close contact with the Thai navy on the evacuation of tourists from the region.The flooding could delay shipments of between 1,000 and 1,500 tonnes of smoked rubber sheet, industry officials said. The region supplies 90 percent of the 3.2 million tonnes produced annually in Thailand, the world's biggest producer and exporter. "Small producers along the upper south, who need to carry rubber by road to be shipped from Bangkok's port are facing disruption as roads are cut off," Prapas Uernontat, secretary general of the Thai Rubber Association said. Nearly a million people have been affected by unseasonably heavy downpours across the region. Mudslides were reported in three areas in Krabi province. At least 10 people were killed in one village, with at least 10 others missing. Wiboon Sangruanpong, director-general of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, said it was too soon to assess full damage and said more mudslides were possible. Along with the airport on Koh Samui, the Nakhon Si Thammarat and Surat Thani airports have also been shut.

Situation:

Thai rescue workers on Friday struggled to get supplies to areas in southern Thailand cut off by floods. It comes as authorities step up the evacuation of thousands of stranded residents. Access to some areas has been cut off because of severe flooding. The Thai military has deployed Black Hawk helicopters to evacuate the elderly, women and children first from those flooded areas. Several schools have been converted into temporary evacuation centers. By Thursday, nearly one thousand tourists had been evacuated from tourist hotspots. In some of the affected areas, people have been without electricity or food for several days. Authorities are struggling to send supplies to locals. Over the past several days, floods and mudslides in southern Thailand have killed at least 25 people. The Thai Meteorological Department says that rains have begun to subside, but water levels still need to be monitored closely--and that more landslides are possible in many areas.

Situation:

A total of 35 people were now confirmed killed by the flash floods and mudslides caused by heavy rainstorms that have hit several southern provinces since March 23, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department reported on Saturday. Of the total, 15 were in Nakhon Si Thammarat, 8 in Surat Thani, 6 in Krabi, and two each in Phatthalung, Chumphon and Trang, the department said. Provinces hit by major flooding are Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Surat Thani, Trang, Chumphon, Songkhla, Krabi and Phangnga, Satun and Narathiwat. As many as 1,959,897 people have been affected and 917,793 rai of farmlands submerged, according to the department. On Friday, the department reported the southern flood death toll at 21.

Situation:

The death toll from heavy flooding in southern Thailand has risen to 40, the government said, with thousands of people forced to live in temporary shelters. More than a week of heavy rain - in what is usually one of the hottest months - has caused floods in 10 of Thailand's 77 provinces, submerging homes, triggering landslides, and washing away roads and bridges. As of today, the death toll stood at 17 in hard-hit Nakhon Si Thammarat province, 10 in Surat Thani, seven in Krabi, and two each in Phatthalung, Chumphon and Trang, the department of disaster prevention and mitigation said. A mudslide swamped at least one whole village in Khao Phanom district, Krabi province. Bad weather last week stranded thousands on islands in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea, prompting the government to send in the navy to rescue people from the resort islands of Koh Tao and Koh Phangan, where food and water was running low. Ferry and air links have since resumed to most holiday areas. Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva today called for people to be on alert for any new flood or mudslide warnings, saying that while the rains have eased, waterlogged soil remained a concern. "People should cooperate with the authorities when there are warnings. Do not think it will never happen," he said in his weekly television program, speaking live from flood-stricken Surat Thani province. He said the government would discuss assistance for people affected by the floods at a Cabinet meeting tomorrow. The new disaster comes just months after devastating flooding across Thailand late last year which left more than 200 people dead.

Situation:

More than a million people in the south of Thailand are still on high alert following the devastating unseasonal flooding that has already killed at least 45 people in the eight affected provinces. Damaged roads left thousands of residents cut off from rescue teams for almost a week. Some airports have been closed and in the worst affected provinces of Nakhon Si Thammarat and Surat Thani, hospitals had to be evacuated when floodwaters swept through wards. World Vision Foundation of Thailand (WVFT) responded within the first few days with distribution of thousands of emergency relief packs, and in collaboration with local authorities and support of volunteers, set up communal kitchens in the worst affected regions. Ms Chitra Thumborisuth, National Director said: “The flood and resulting devastation is far worse than the flash floods that hit the same region last November. Thousands of families left destitute by the last floods had only just started to pick up the pieces of their lives. So we are deeply concerned about the potential physical and emotional impact of this latest flooding.”

In many areas, water levels reached three metres. Apart from damage to houses, many people also suffered the loss of livelihoods. WVFT is continuing its extensive response to ensure the well-being of children and their families. Six of World Vision’s project sites have been impacted. While no casualties have been reported, children were nonetheless affected in one way or another. “We will be continuing our emergency relief effort for at least another few days, and in coordination with local government continue to fill the gaps and fulfil the needs of desperate children and families,” Ms Thumborisuth said. WVFT is appealing for USD 700,000 for a planned 45-day response effort targeting 20,000 families.

Situation:

The death toll from the flash floods that swept through southern Thailand has risen to 51, the public health ministry said Monday. The flooding has affected more than 2 million people in 10 provinces, the country's disaster prevention agency said. While the exact economic loss from the floods had not been determined, the prime minister's office said it would ask for $146 million for rehabilitation efforts in the affected areas. The floods, which struck a week ago, came during an unseasonably wet March. The month is usually one of the hottest of the year.

Intense rain triggered widespread landslides in southern Thailand during the last week of March 2011. This photo-like image shows some of the slides in the forested hills of the Krabi province on the western side of the Malay Peninsula. The freshly exposed brown earth and swollen muddy rivers stand out against the deep green forest.
The large image, which covers a much wider area, shows many more landslides, though clouds hide much of the region from view. The Advanced Land Imager (ALI) on NASA’s Earth Observing-1 (EO-1) satellite acquired the image on April 4, 2011.
The landslides occurred because of unseasonably heavy rain, during which more than 1,200 millimeters (47 inches) fell. The ensuing floods and landslides affected more than two million people and killed 53 in 11 Thai provinces, said news reports on April 5. One large slide (mostly under clouds, immediately southeast of the area shown in the web image) buried a village of about 100 households.
